This event has ended.

The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art in association with The Kymara Gallery presents Pulled Pork: Unseen Images from Warhol’s Only Play, a solo photography exhibition by Leee Black Childers, curated by Kymara Lonergan and Oliver Klaassen. Pork, and its cast and crew from The Ridiculous Theater Company, were influential in the subsequent evolution of glitter, glam, and punk rock music. Included in this exhibition are over 40 of Childers’ dramatic, unseen images of the performance and stage. Childers, a vital character of the New York underground, captured the rock ‘n’ roll antics of the 60s and 70s and was a member of Andy Warhol’s entourage of creative associates. Included in this exhibition will be selected works from the permanent collection of the Leslie-Lohman Museum, including Warhol’s lithograph series, “Sex Parts”. An opening celebration will be held on September 13 from 6-9 PM which will feature readings from the original script of Andy Warhol’s “Pork” and a performance by Walter Steading.
