This event has ended.

Sequoyah Aono presents three dimensional objects via sculpture as he continues making things anachronistically by hand in a consuming society full of conveniently available stuff. The artist sees that the process of building things up seems to have some similarity to the life cycle, and so he is trying to expose this process. From trees hewn down, these three dimensional sculptures carved by hand have been previously exhibited in public, all of which he regards were completely finished as his original pieces. He ventured to add a destructive process followed by reconstruction into other forms.

The result might make his pieces unstable in view, but this is his question to the specific concepts that he finds in the art market, and also his challenge to find a new art path. Aono introduces unique ‘living’ art works that result from ‘broken’ visual images, showing imperfection at a glance.
