“Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts”

Over 120 paintings, photographs, sculptures, and works on paper by 34 contemporary artists will be exhibited at the galleries of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Exhibiting artists were chosen from a pool of 175 artists nominated by members of the Academy. Participating artists are eligible to receive one of eight awards, which include five Arts and Letters Awards in Art, the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award, the Jacob Lawrence Award, and the Gwendolyn Knight Lawrence Award.
Paintings, works on paper and sculpture in the exhibition are eligible to be purchased and donated to an American museum through the Academy’s Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Purchase Fund.
