This event has ended.

This interdisciplinary exhibition includes photographs, sculptures, video artworks, and a site-specific installation. Riitta Ikonen has performed in costume to enliven the geographical and cultural loci of her native Finland, and Nadja Frank has traced the course of geological time by layering materials found in a marble quarry in Italy, and recasting the documentation as a video sculpture in its own right. Sarah Kabot has traced her relationship to a professor in sculptures combining photographs she took of the books in his apartment, and Jackie Mock has combined the hair of her artist friends and natural materials taken from Central Park to sculpt replica paint brushes. The works speak to each other, as well – the geological strata documented in Frank’s sculptures and photographs of the quarries parallel Mock’s indexing of her daily experience by placing every spoon she has used since 2009 in a case of stratified drawers.
