Three contemporary New York painters Xico Greenwald, Despina Konstantinides and Kim Sloane draw parallels in their daily practice of painting through research, still lifes and other source materials. Xico Greenwald’s still lifes serve as a counterbalance to his paintings while Despina Konstantinides and Kim Sloane’s works offer two critical perspectives of an artist’s relationship to material culture.
