This event has ended.

One Art Space presents Evans Woollen newest collection of works, entitled “Architecture into Painting”.

Throughout Woollen’s career, spanning over 60 years, he has toed the line between architect and artist.

As an architect he has designed numerous prominent structures, including The Indiana University Musical Arts Center, and the Grainger Library in the University of Illinois.

His art has been held on display in a multitude of esteemed galleries and centers for art across the US. Woollen’s paintings consist of sweeping rhythms, intense color, and a unique quality that provides each the ability to radiate visual energy wherever they are presented. They harmonize in a built space, where the beaming energies of their movement, form, and color become part of the ebb and flow of daily life in an architectural space.

Evans Woollen received his Bachelor of Arts from Yale College & Master of Architecture from Yale University in 1952. He has undertaken a fellowship with the American Institute of Architects, served as an Adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon, was a resident at the American Academy in Rome and has a 1hr PBS documentary, “Building for Meaning- the Architecture of Evans Woollen” dedicated to his works.
