This event has ended.

The 22 paintings in this stunning, museum-quality exhibition were painted in Austria, France, Spain, Belgium, and Germany during the 15th century. Very diverse in their styles, these artists subscribe to different ideas of beauty, painting their subjects with sumptuous color and compelling expressive force that would culminate in the art of Dürer and Grünewald. There is very little published on this field outside of Germany and the survival rate of these pictures is very low, hence their rarity. Precious few are in American museums or elsewhere outside of Germany.

The exhibition is accompanied by a scholarly, illustrated catalogue (250 pages) by Professor Susie Nash of the Courtauld Institute, London.
