This event has ended.

Barbara Kassel describes her paintings as celebrations of the memorable moments in her life, and in them, she reveals much about her particular present. Kassel paints in the places where she lives, and the viewer is her invited guest. Be it her long time Tribeca home, her part time cottages in Martha’s Vineyard and Maine, or the fleeting residence of a Niagara Falls hotel room, her surroundings are her subjects and she fills them with objects of personal and symbolic meaning. Toppled teacups, half-completed crossword puzzles, animal figurines, open paint boxes and favorite paintings abound – the artist’s world in motion, left for the viewer to discover.
