This event has ended.

Tally Beck Contemporary will present the first solo exhibition in New York for Yiğit Yazıcı. Nobody’s Business but the Turk’s will open on November 14, 2012 and run through January 6, 2013. The show will feature 12 new and recent paintings by the artist.

Yazıcı creates vibrant, layered paintings of vivid colors and entangled shapes transforming the gallery space to a place of introspection and exploration. In conjunction with the New York exhibition, the artist’s work will be on view in Tally Beck Contemporary’s anchor booth at Art Asia Miami from December 4 to 9, 2012.

In his work, Yazıcı offers the viewer a new perspective on everyday life by incorporating ordinary objects, such as motorcycles, airplanes, and cameras into his work. Inspired by Pop Art, Expressionism, and the CoBRA movement, the artist layers bold colors with geometric shapes, incorporating elements of nature, surprise, and the mundane.

Nobody’s Business but the Turk’s will open at Tally Beck Contemporary, 42 Rivington Street, on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, with an opening reception from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the artist in attendance.
