Milijada Barada Exhibition
Ana Tzarev Gallery
This event has ended.
Milijada Barada’s painterly approach employs an expressive recreation of the natural world as found in her seething seas, ominous skies, and her roaring landscapes and raging environments. The painter has transcended any physical attachment to nature by painting the visible world into a metaphysical one, in which she pours these seas and suns, rocks and glowing heat, violent winds and foreboding clouds. She takes the natural world to the verge of cosmic consciousness at which through her brush she speaks of origins and reasons, of the true reality of the natural world shrouded by the nature of humanity. On Barada’s canvases everything is in motion, under constant, relentless winds of change that never come from one direction, but instead whirl around from the four corners of the Earth. On this frenzy of the seething creation and completion of the world the Earth’s cliffs lose their ground, the horizons dip and rise, celestial forces move apocalyptically, visualizing the message of creation from the Old Testament.
