The show's distinguished juror, Forrest Old, owner of Red Filter Fine Art Photography Gallery in Lambertville, NJ and also the publisher of BWGallerist.com, a fine arts photography website, selected these photographs to be in 2012's exhibition.
In previous years, this competition has drawn entries from all over the United States and 2012 was no exception. 154 photographers, from Maine to Washington State, submitted more than 1,000 photographs for consideration by the juror.
After making his selections, Forrest Old said:
The breadth and quality of submissions was truly impressive. An array of subject matter and techniques made for an exciting review. The contemporary flavor combined often with historic influences and processes kept the viewer moving forward anticipating "what next?"
