poster for " Staff Picks: Favorite Photographs from Our Inventory" Exhibition

This event has ended.

An eclectic group of images, chosen by the entire gallery staff, includes an array of both well- known and unknown works by: Jacques Henri Lartigue, Robert Frank, Joel Meyerowitz, William Gedney, Danny Lyon, Bruce Davidson, Dorothea Lange, Arnold Newman as well as many others. Our gallery's staff is comprised of thirteen unique individuals with a wide range of experience in photography; however, we all share a specialized bond in our unwavering appreciation of the medium. While some members of the staff selected images based on a theme or a specific aesthetic, others selected randomly, both approaches give the viewer insight as to the similarities and differences in how we all see and what moves us.

One of the wonderful advantages to working at the Howard Greenberg Gallery is the expansive diversity of our inventory. With well over 30,000 photographs to choose from, it was challenging to narrow down our selections to just five a piece. We all have personal reasons for our choices and the result is a group of photographs that capture our imagination, heighten our understanding of the medium, transport us to another time and place, and overwhelm us with their beauty.
