In today's culture, the average person is constantly bombarded with information. Works of art frequently benefit from looking like one thing but saying another. bait-and-switch presents artists who employ this strategy – whose work captures the viewer's attention then pulls the rug out from under them. These artists deliver fresh perspectives on familiar means, leveraging a known medium, image or source material, and subverting it to their own means.
