This event has ended.

Founded by a group of working artists based in New York City, this event champions a new model for art fairs by putting the artists and the visitors first. More than 100 emerging and established artists from all corners of the world are chosen to participate based solely on the merit of their work and are then granted rooms of their own in Governors Island's landmark architecture to transform into unique exhibition environments. Admission to wander this diverse array of fresh contemporary art is free.

4heads is a New York-based arts group that specializes in commandeering and repurposing unused spaces - developing unique environments for the purpose of art exhibition, installation and performance so that artists from all over the world can make good use of dismissed areas. Ernie Sandidge, Nicole Laemmle, Jack Robinson and Antony Zito make up the founding core of the group which was formed in early 2008 with a mission of forging new opportunities for the growing community of artists in New York and beyond.

4heads' goal is to continually create diverse venues and forums to present, advocate and provide services for artists everywhere. The desire to structure valuable opportunities for creative individuals comes in part as an empathetic reflection of the group's own struggle as working artists surviving in NYC. 4heads is primarily focused on encouraging organically occurring culture by nurturing the evolving community of artists - who they see as the true voice of contemporary culture.
