Stunning in detail, these contemporary Buddhist tangkas and mandalas created by artists Leah and Stan Goldberg are steeped in tradition and infused with an enthusiasm borne from the advice of a confidant of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to be more righteous in art and life.
New Mexico residents, the Goldbergs depict iconic images like the Green Tara and Blue Buddha with keen reverence, and have seen their work evolve, in ways sometimes nurturing, sometimes intense, but always with a sense of unique intimacy, with the image guiding in position (asana) or dress.
Their works reside in prominent private collections of Mick Jagger, Billy Wilder and others, as well as in major corporate collections, such as those of the Bank of America and the Waldorf Astoria.
