"Many years ago, Sarah Morthland, who at the time was the Director of Howard Greenberg Gallery and Exhibition Curator for Gallery 292, suggested the idea of "Men with Hats; Women with Shoes." It was a bit of a joke between us, reflecting on how many photographs we had that seemed to reflect this visual notion. Somehow, I never forgot the "title" and I am now inspired to put together this collection from the gallery's holdings." -Howard Greenberg, 2012
