This event has ended.

"In my eyes there are two major ways of doing photography, either capture the horror of the world (and there's plenty of work) or sublime it. I picked the second." Christophe Jacrot's statement of intent is filled with understated bravery – given the great consideration awarded to documentary photography, the act of seeking beauty, order and serenity in the chaos around comes off as a rather bold move. The wintry allure of Jacrot's intricate pictures, very much de circonstance as we write these lines, is a lofty pursuit in itself. The conditions in which this beauty presents itself (the storm and snow, the rain and cold) make it hard to reach. We tortured souls admire Jacrot's dedication to stepping into removed territories under adverse conditions.
