The exhibition, Angelo Pinto, A Retrospective, 1928 to 1987: Paintings, Drawings, and The Complete Prints, is at the Susan Teller Gallery, October 6 through November 8, 2012. Pinto's sixty-year career began with the onset of The Great Depression. 1929, was a year of early success and promise. He graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art and his drawing, Red Water Lily, was shown in The Art Institute of Chicago 9th International Exhibition. In 1928 he began classes at the Barnes Foundation; he taught there from 1935 or 36 until 1992. Nine of this works are currently on view at the Barnes; his work is in permanent collections throughout the country.
