"Interconnected Segment" Exhibition

ArtGate Gallery

This event has ended.

ArtGate Gallery presents Interconnected Segment a group exhibition featuring works by eight international artists. The show will feature a variety of mediums exploring topics ranging from nature to artificial intelligence. While the subject matters are seemingly unrelated, the pieces unite around the common theme of lines. Each artist presents a unique perspective on the theme, whether it be metaphorically or explicitly.

Sung Tae Park transforms wire mesh into seemingly live horse. His carefully constructed contours play upon light and shadows to add a depth of animation not typically found in static structures.

Peter Gregorio explores the scientific concept of “The Singularity.” His interdisciplinary approach combines his interest in theoretical cosmology, science fiction, and experimental music to present a flattened, nuanced dystopian landscape that feels vaguely familiar.

Seung Wook Sim creates a physical representation of the darkness which fills his conscious and his imagination. His sculptures are disquieting while possessing an air of delicate fragility.

Alexander Severin uses photography to examine the built environment. His practice centers around issues of how we see and understand the complex landscape of designed and undesigned space, as well as the abstractions implied by the practice of architecture.

JeeYoung Lee’s photographs bring to life her uncanny imagination and immerse their viewers in the world she has created. Lee achieves a sense of believability by building perception-altering rooms to scale, thus creating a convincingly real, yet also dreamlike, environment.

Sue G. Syn implies the message that dreams vitalize humankind. Her installation generates metaphysical-realist moment when audience sits inside of the oblique and activate the robotic-wing.

Ka Kyoung Lee depicts the repetitive nature of daily life. She portrays moving images of the circular mundane aspects of everyday life in an abstract reconstruction of reality.

Xiao Wei Chen explores the interconnectivity between natural environments, natural disasters and human thought.
