This event has ended.

Mototaka Takano is well known for his winter landscape paintings of fishing villages and fish markets in northeastern Japan.

Born in Tokyo, Takano has been painting winter scenes since he became fascinated by the northern most point of Aomori prefecture, Tappi Misaki, 32 years ago. Bitter cold Aomori, and the rustic and beautiful Hokkaido regions have continually enchanted him. He depicts the magnificence of nature with his unique and strong knife strokes, evoking the occasionally raging seashore.

In this exhibition, 50 of his latest paintings will be exhibited.
