The exhibition showcases paintings from the impressive oeuvre of Ana Tzarev inspired by her travels across the globe. Tzarev strives to learn all about the far flung locations she experiences in her grand journeys. Her ever-present curiosity manifests itself in colorful, vibrant paintings that capture the lives and landscapes she has encountered.
Travel and culture have both been essential sources of inspiration for Ana Tzarev throughout her career. Tzarev spent the early portion of her career as a textile designer in New Zealand, traveling extensively to Japan and neighboring Southeast Asia to source traditional prints and materials for her popular and successful fabric designs. As Tzarev continued to discover and learn more about the world, she ventured further, traveling to locations such as Thailand, Italy, Hawaii, and Mali, continuously absorbing the rich landscapes and patterns of daily life that define a culture’s singularity.
