Julie Torres seeks spontaneity and unexpected outcomes, trying not to overthink the outcome while she is painting. In her recent work she focuses on acrylic on wood panel. Her work explores the area between what is blatant and what is suggested. She writes, "I enjoy work that is secretive, unclear and perhaps a little confusing to the viewer. I love making puzzles, and I love trying to figure them out."
