"480 Pixels – An Exhibition of BrooklynVegan’s Music Photography" Exhibition

92YTribeca Art

This event has ended.

Since BrooklynVegan launched in 2004, the music blog has become a must-read in the indie music scene in New York and beyond. BrooklynVegan has also developed a reputation for its music photos, with its photographers documenting the rise of countless bands, venues, and scenes, as well as festivals around the US and abroad. In a new exhibit at 92YTribeca, fans can see the best of the blog’s concert photos, artist portraits, and atmosphere-capturing crowd shots on the walls of an “off-line” gallery. The exhibition marks the first time many of the images will be shown in public at a size greater than 480 pixels, the standard width of each photo on BrooklynVegan.

480 Pixels – An Exhibition of BrooklynVegan’s Music Photography, opens at 92YTribeca August 16 and showcases the work of over a dozen photographers who regularly contribute to BrooklynVegan.

And, of course, the best way to celebrate the opening of a BrooklynVegan music photography exhibit is with live music. Following the opening night reception in the gallery on August 16, BrooklynVegan favorites the Heliotropes, Hunters, and the Screaming Females perform live on 92YTribeca’s mainstage. Works by Marissa Paternoster, lead singer and guitarist for the Screaming Females, are also among those featured in the exhibit.
