Kilu’s artistic practice incorporates light as both the source material and focus of his work. He explores the intangible medium by transforming and combining objects into sculptures, which manipulate, capture and absorb the intrinsic values of light.
The Illuminati installation presents the latest Lightbodies -- life-size human shapes, in both idealized male and female forms. These sculptures are coated with painterly gestures including bold colors, expressive details, and varying textures such as diamond dust. Expressive beings though inherently inanimate, the Lightbodies reflect more than light.
Kilu relocated from Switzerland to New York in 2006 after winning The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition. His accomplishments also include winning The Healing Power of Art award in 2007, as well as being exhibited in several solo and group shows in New York.
