This event has ended.

Eyebeam Fellow Mary Mattingly will undertake a live test of a(n in-process) Flock House living system at Eyebeam, living in the unit while building out and testing the power, food, and water systems in preparation for the project’s public launch in May 2012. Mary will host an event with Geoff Manaugh and the Urban Research Group in tandem with the exhibition on Thursday, March 1 from 6-8 PM, and an opening reception in conjunction with Taeyoon Choi on March 15th.

The Flock Houses consist of a group of sculptural, self-sufficient habitats that are interstitial, engaging with and dependent on the public at large. Moveable, expandable, able to attach to one another and the surrounding architecture, their movements will be choreographed throughout U.S.-based urban centers. They also represent informal cross-border notions of property and economy.
