What Others Have Sung: The Art of Paul Reynard alights on specific aspects of Reynard’s half-century of artmaking, bodies of work that represent both high points and through-themes in his career. In particular, it features a large selection of the banners he produced in the 1970s, elaborate but visually lucid and handsome designs that build on his knowledge of Asian art and artifacture. The show also features Reynard’s earlier relief paintings, with their own powerful architectural qualities; a small group of later, landscape-referenced paintings on canvas; and a variety of works on paper.
