This event has ended.

The first exhibit in the revitalized TNC Gallery is ”PAINTERS X 10,” a show of work by ten New York City artists.
The theme of the exhibit is paint: thick, thin, violent, passive, muted, garish PAINT. Paint that Claes Oldenburg said “twists and extends and spits and drips and is heavy and coarse and blunt and sweet and stupid as life itself."
The ten artists have had what Chuck Close called the “shared experience of having pushed paint around” and “splashed the stuff down.”
“Painters x 10” marks the renewal of the 25 year-old TNC Gallery and the continuing commitment of its host, Theater for the New City, to be a center for the convergence of visual and performing arts. TNC Gallery, curated by Peter J. Ketchum, will exhibit emerging and underrepresented artists, with 4-6 exhibits each year.
