This event has ended.

With giant ocean vessels surging across seas of grass, small crafts seemingly suspended above water and fantastic structures rising above dry sea beds awaiting a hopeful but unseen tide, Philippe Jacquet describes his own sublime dream world. It is a vision of those who long to journey, lost in their gazes that extend across expanses of flowing skies, absentee oceans, and undetermined vistas of crystalline blue waters…or is it simply air? Using thin layers of glossy paint and varnishes on board, Jacquet presents these narratives of longing and introspection, leaving the viewer to their own interpretation.

Formerly trained as an architect, Jacquet traded his career for that of a full time painter about 10 years ago, channeling his highly personal and quiet musings into images which instantly connect the viewer to his mysterious, detailed and nuanced offerings. On June 4th Jacquet will take his own journey from his native France to Soho to attend the opening reception of his show and meet his collectors.
