A controversial new art exhibit, COMPLEJO, (t he Spanish word for ‘Complex’), will open in New York City on Thursday, August 4, 2011. COMPLEJO is a thought provoking collection of mixed-media pieces exploring complexes that Dominicans and other people of color have regarding their hair texture, skin color, self-esteem and what it means to be both Black and Latino.
