This event has ended.

A selection of recent paintings by Grégoire Müller, marking his return to the New York art scene after a hiatus of seventeen years.

During this solitary time, to which he refers as a "crossing of the desert" of sorts, Grégoire Müller has developed a new approach to figurative painting, working with oil and turpentine on black denim. Notwithstanding their darkness, these recent paintings are all about light and evoke chiaroscuro effects. Meanwhile, the thematic concerns within Müller’s œuvre are strictly contemporary. Ranging from portraiture of individuals belonging to the artist’s inner circle to various politically charged topics of our time, Müller’s subjects remain the ones that have occupied him over almost forty years.
