This event has ended.

OK Harris Works of Art is pleased to announce five solo exhibitions of new work

Tino Zago:
Tino Zago’s paintings are poetic distillations of the artist’s interpretation of water and landscape. Appearing almost as spontaneous, improvisational gesture, each work is a tightly controlled stream of consciousness that develops themes of form, resolution, quietude, contemplation and almost mathematical precision.

Kes Zapkus:
Kes Zapkus derives his work from the accumulative visual identity of the Art of Painting, but turns it to abstraction with the structural attitude of a classical music composition. The grid divides the painting field into units which allow him to work with ideas of multiplicity, theme, variation, cross-reference and simultaneity to convey the complexities of contemporary existence.

Michael Massaia:
Michael Massaia has spent the past few years documenting the amusement locations that skirt the New Jersey Coastline. The images in the Afterlife portfolio depict these areas at their most vacant moments. Working alone with strictly large format view cameras and meticulously hand making Platinum prints, Michael attempts to shed a new light on commonly misrepresented and misunderstood areas of southern New Jersey.

Ward Schumaker:
Unlike most collage, the images included in Schumaker’s work are not found, they are all images he has created: scraps of rejected sketches done for illustration jobs, drawings that have been transferred to plates and printed by letterpress, or words cut from paper much in the same way he would have done for grade school projects.

Valerie Margolis:
Valerie Margolis’ paintings begin with one serving as a drop-cloth for another. Each one builds a personal history in paint that culminates in a lush, heavily-worked surface that implies the grid and aspires to simple purity in the form of a contemplative, painterly minimalism.
