This event has ended.

Inspired by the bucolic scenes of Jeri Eisenberg's residence in upstate New York, A Sojourn in Seasons is the artist's attempt to capture what is both tangible and yet hauntingly brief in nature. Detailed and oversized images of foliage are printed on panels of Japanese Kozo paper, infused with wax on both sides, and hung as polyptychs. The artist's unique handling of the medium creates an immersive environment in which the viewer is invited to experience rather than simply see the images: the delicate nature of Kozo paper, the blurred, de-contextualized views of magnolias and sugar maples and a lingering smell of beeswax coalesce into a dream-like atmosphere that captures the essence of nature without strictly reproducing it. Work on A Sojourn in Seasons was started just as the artist's father began to lose his sight and in many ways the show is as much a meditation on the relationship between sense and perception as it is on the natural world. Commenting on her work Jeri Eisenberg says "it helps me remember that all of life is ephemeral-you hold on to what you can, and ultimately, you must let go." One gladly does just that in this entrancing show that encourages the viewer to revel in the beauty of this world, however fleeting.
