BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn and El Museo del Barrio present the final installment of The (S) Files: 2011 at BRIC Rotunda Gallery, 33 Clinton St. Curated by Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, Trinidad Fombella, and Elvis Fuentes, El Museo's sixth biennial features innovative work emphasizing Street Art movements as a point of creative departure. Highlighting Latino, Caribbean, and Latin American artists currently working in the greater New York area, this year's edition takes on an expansive exploration of the visual energy, events, and aesthetics of urban environments. The (S) Files: 2011 opens Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at BRIC Rotunda Gallery and will be on view through January 7, 2012.

According to the curators of the exhibition, “Times of crisis are also times in which life extends into the streets. The artists in this exhibition have created gestures that address social interaction, economic reaction, and the street as stage or object worthy of aesthetic intervention.” The (S) Files: 2011 spreads across the city, showcasing 75 emerging artists at seven venues. BRIC Rotunda Gallery, the sole Brooklyn venue of the biennial, presents political work of participating artists grouped by theme and media, including: Alexis Duque, Gerard Ellis, Felipe Galindo, COCO144/Roberto Gualtieri, Alicia Grullón, Las Hermanas Iglesias, Armando Mariño, Jessica Mein, Leonor Mendoza, Felix Morelo, MARE139/Carlos Rodriguez, Rafael Sánchez and Kathleen White, Rafael Sánchez, VJ Demencia/Rene Juan De La Cruz and Nicoykatiushka.
