Deborah Kahn "Paintings"
Bowery Gallery
This event has ended.
Kahn's paintings are physically dense works that are labored over for weeks and months at a time. Through an investigation of form, she structures space and weaves color to create a powerful and emotive visual experience. The imagery suggests distorted human and animal figures entangled in an ambiguous space.
Kahn graduated with an MFA in painting from Yale University in 1978. She exhibited in New York at the Bowery Gallery and the Painting Center. For the past two years she has been included in group exhibitions at the Toyota Municipal Museum in Nagoya, Japan. Her work has been included in exhibitions in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Les Yeux du Monde Gallery in Charlottesville, VA represents her work.
