This event has ended.

Park is renowned for her distinctive interdisciplinary language using various media such as drawings, poems, sound, video and installation. Her works elaborate and appropriate seemingly unrelated fragments of episodes, music, novels, and objects she encounters.

The point of departure in Park’s works often appears coincidental. Yet every image and word contained becomes an important signifier. Voyage of the Black Bird begins with a diamond cut glass bead, a gift from Park’s nephew who was seven years old at the time of the narrative. This casual event leads viewers to mysterious and strange roads that shift drastically—to a dream where they meander through a multi-layered structure. The story is organically crafted, intertwined, and superimposed with specifically researched data. As the various media and subjects transcend time and space, Park constantly traverses and blurs reality and imagination, communicating the universal phenomena and principles and questioning what is believed to be the reality.
