Dacia Gallery presents “Under The Burnt Walls”, a solo exhibition by artist and poet Stefano Losi. The author’s art project, developed between Milan, London, and New York since the early 1990s, combines on large size linen or jute dramatic studies of the human figure and intense original poetry. The natural earthy colors are a result of a chromatic research that merges acrylic media, sands and oxidized metal minerals as iron, copper, bronze, or titanium, and pure gold.

The works reflect the fine art education received since early childhood at the classical painting practice of his grandfather in Lake Como, near Milan. After having received his graduate degree at the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan in 1993, Stefano Losi worked in senior management roles in different International Institutions, and in 2005 was nominated Knight of the Italian Republic by President Ciampi. His art has already been honored with two solo exhibitions at the United Nations in New York.

Stefano Losi grew up engrossed in classical art and literature. The Mediterranean culture still emerges as a reference in his visual works, yet with a clear contemporary sensitivity. Journalist and writer Marco Mathieu described the author’s art as “Timeless. On the contrary, inside time. And beyond… Significant. Blunt. Stirring, most of all… Strokes and shadows. Black. Intensity, liberty. And love.”
