This event has ended.

New Practices São Paulo is the most recent juried portfolio competition and exhibition of the biennial tradition sponsored by the New Practices Committee of the AIA New York Chapter. New Practices São Paulo serves as a platform for recognizing and promoting new, innovative and emerging architecture firms in São Paulo that have undertaken unique and commendable strategies – both in the projects they undertake and the practices they have established. The New Practices program was launched in 2005 by AIA New York to showcase promising new architectural firms.

This year, AIANY and the Center for Architecture are thrilled to welcome an exhibition of São Paulo’s winning new practices. Like in New York, the Brazilian call and jury emphasized a multidisciplinary approach to architectural practice. From the twenty-one submitted entries, jury members Carlos Motta, Isay Winfeld, João Sette Whitaker Ferreira, José Armenio de Brito Cruz, Nádia Somekh, Ricard Itsuo Ohtake, and Roberto Loeb, selected seven firms who embody the spirit of the New Practices competition.
