The new Botanical Gardens, French Fields and Seascape paintings by John Evans are installed and available for viewing.
John Evans typically explores the deepness of space through unencumbered horizons in his pictorially rich canvases. For this exhibition, he expands upon his revelatory study of nature to include sumptuous Botanical Garden Pools. Dense with eco-forms, Evans conveys the lush color and complex designs of the location with an adept brush. Here the story is altered. In his landscapes (seen in the over sized FIELDS IN BEYNAC), man meditates on the grandeur of nature from a position that is slightly removed but still with-in its confines. The botanic garden series exhibits our desire to specifically frame and curate the natural world. In it we find a carefully crafted experience. Evans translates these sensory delights employing surprising combinations of hue and painterly textures.
