This event has ended.

The 2010 High Bridge:Bronx (HB:BX) Building Cultural Infrastructure competition, hosted by the Emerging New York Architects Committee, AIA New York Chapter, explored the intersection between physical and social infrastructure in cities and the opportunity for the creation of a cultural infrastructure at that intersection.

Fueled by the recent renovation of the High Line and the elegance of the bridge itself, the competition challenged young designers to create a vision for the High Bridge and rethink how disused infrastructure could find new purpose and energize its surrounding community. This historic structure holds the potential to revitalize its surrounding neighborhoods, to capture the imagination of this city and the world, and to become a destination again.

HB:BX was organized by the AIANY Emerging NY Architects Committee in collaboration with the AIA New York Chapter.
