Tobin Hines is an artist who works in various two and three dimensional mediums.
His work deals loosly with the physical, emotional and intellectual distance between the individual (viewer or artist) and the artwork itself and the exchange that occurs as a result of looking.
The work in this show has something to do with the anxiety that results from anticipation as well as notions of absence, contemplation and sincerity.
He is interested in and influenced by popular music, advertising, design, the internet, his friends, The United States of America, television, some books, some movies, standing in line, sports, games, food, amateurism and comedy.
