"The Truth Is I Am You: A project by The Cause Collective" Exhibition

In The Truth Is I Am You, The Cause Collective invites the public to create a floating poem on dozens of large helium-inflated silver balloons hovering throughout the exhibition gallery at Building 110 on Governors Island.
The walls of the gallery will feature a series of vinyl speech bubbles, each imprinted with a line from the original poem “The Truth Is” in one of the 24 most spoken languages in New York City.
The helium-inflated balloons floating throughout the gallery will each feature a blank speech bubble where visitors can write their own lines of poetry inspired by “The Truth Is I Am You”. Dozens of helium-inflated balloons will be added each week to the gallery space, culminating in more than 200 balloons by the end of the exhibition on September 25th.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s famous Silver Clouds, The Truth Is Am You is part of Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Insite: Art + Commemoration, a series of public and online events reflecting on the tenth anniversary of September 11th.
