This event has ended.

The exhibition will include over 24 Ikebana works (the art of Japanese Flower Arrangement), created by members from the Sogetsu Wasetsu Group. The Wasetsu Group(Judith Setsuko Hata, Director)has been exhibiting Sogetsu Ikebana in New York for over two decades. The show will be the 6th major exhibition at The Nippon Gallery.

Sogetsu Ikebana guides us to “express ourselves through flowers”, and Mr. Sofu Teshigahara, the fonder of their school, and his successors have taught. Arrangements can be of the “basic style” or also more creative. It is not just the assembly of flowers in vases. There are rules of relationship of space, line and colors and these elements create form and balance. The participants of this exhibition are about 24 flower artists including Japanese and Americans. They all continue to actively pursue an aesthetic awareness of Ikebana suitable for the ever-changing lifestyle of today’s world.
