Tadao Okazaki "Ma Paintings"
Elga Wimmer PCC
This event has ended.
Wimmer gallery features Tadao Okazaki’s Ma (the void) paintings that refer to the Zen concept of Mu which represents the void yet solid. This paradoxical concept differs slightly from the typical yin/yang, empty/full of Taoism in that it refers to the void out of which comes life. Okazaki creates the void, or Ma (nothingness of zen) into which the viewer can bring her/his own imagination and emotion. So, in the space of the Ma which is the absolute void, there exists the interstice that Okazaki calls Mu, which is without any evident definable shape.
