Yves Crenn Exhibition
Bertrand Delacroix Gallery
This event has ended.
Yves Crenn presents his surrounding objects, specifically solitary trees, ports, shoes and nudes. The perception of memory is prevalent in his work as every subject is depicted in what seems to be a natural and solitary state but is washed over with watercolor to emphasize his mental reflection of each subject. These objects are not affected by time, but by his fading memory. He is prolonging the moment as these objects are gracious and clean, it is his memory alone that ages them. Using oil pastels and watercolor creates a textural effect that Crenn greatly favors; he continues to explore these daily realities through his recollections.
Yves Crenn, born in 1969 in Vernon, France, was encouraged to draw from an early age. He attended “Les Beaux Arts de Rouen”, where he studied oil painting and drawing. Crenn received many accolades from the artist’s jury and went on to participate in numerous group exhibitions in Normandy. Crenn has participated in solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the United States.
