BACK YARD PROJECTS presents a site-specific installation by Los Angeles-based artist Morgan Silver-Greenberg. NEW AGE ///\\\ NEW LIFE investigates man’s innate desire to ascribe order to the chaos of the universe through the construction of belief systems. Silver-Greenberg appropriates and collages aspects of various modern religions to reveal a universal proclivity for order and divinity. Juxtaposing the material language of contemporary commerce with natural and scientific elements, the artist analyzes the interrelationship between the ideologically pure and the complex. The foundation of a greater research project, NEW AGE ///\\\ NEW LIFE will grow and unfold throughout the course of the exhibition and ultimately result in the creation of a hybrid new age religious text.
