Sam Messenger "Six Veils"
Maxwell Davidson Gallery/Davidson Contemporary
This event has ended.
For his second solo exhibition at Davidson Contemporary, Sam Messenger has created all-new "Veil" drawings. Each five-foot square "Veil" is washed with black ink and allowed to dry outside on the snow at the artist's Messenger's studio in Chamonix, Switzerland. Messenger then painstakingly adds white ink with a pen in a pattern based off of the Golden Ratio. Though based on an infallible ratio, these beautifully rendered works offer the illusion of randomness.
