The lyrical black and white works of Liam Holding, Wayne Liu, Augustus Nazzaro and Shimpei Takeda derive their power from their restraint. Stripped of visual razzle dazzle, light and dark, shape and line allude to familiar places and objects without revealing them, leaving the viewer in a middle place, suspended between abstraction and representation.
