This event has ended.

“Observing : Shapes L.I.C.”, is a collaborative show linking the art project “Today New York, Tomorrow the World” (a large installation painting) created by Brian Hogan with the surrounding L.I.C. neighborhood.

After the creation of phase I of the installation Brian taught his students ( from the Joan Mitchell Foundation partnered with Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement, Oueensbridge) about deconstructing and rebuilding using the complex visual information we observed around L.I.C. They broke down what was found to rebuild and reinterpret the information in to unique abstract creations with the pieces.
This show will give you the full experience from process through the completed installation plus an insight to how one persons artistic practice could be viewed and used to gain a new understanding of the spaces around us.
