This event has ended.

An exhibition of landscapes and seascapes by Adam Straus, "Taking Notes or Trying to Keep the Fiddle Tuned," will focus on a selected group of small paintings on paper from 2008 through 2011. The paintings capture moments that reflect the sublime in nature from Straus' home on the North Fork of Long Island and trips to the mountains of the Catskills, as well as South Florida where he was born and raised. Light and atmosphere play a crucial role in his depictions of the natural world. The artist is well known for his concerns about global climate change and man's interference with nature - and the paintings often depict land that is about to be developed or has been tampered with in some way by man.
