This event has ended.

Internationally renowned artist SASAKI. SASAKI has been obsessively continuing to produce HEARTBEAT DRAWING since 1995, in which he records heartbeats with a pen or airbrush. Today people from all over the world have in their possession more than 5 million heartbeats, drawn on over 300 artworks. In total there have been depicted more than 20 million heartbeats, on over 1600 artworks until today and that number is still growing. HEARTBEAT DRAWING: Ivy Beyond Neo-Life is based on gallerist Ivy Brown. After SASAKI and Ivy met he was inspired by Ivy’s story and felt his work was a perfect match and their combination would make a great show.
It is site and subject specific but SASAKI will also be performing his HEARTBEAT DRAWING for the public for a 7-day period from October 21th, 2011- October 27th, 2011 times 12pm-2pm, 3pm-5pm. To create the drawings he puts a heart monitor on the subject’s finger and then amplifies the sounds of their heartbeat, which he then draws. This is an art experience that fuses together art and performance art to create a visually pleasing and personal piece of artwork for the viewers and the recipients.
SASAKI HEARTBEAT DRAWINGS have been collected and created for celebrities and Presidents, and exhibited at this year’s Venice Biennale. He also has done a benefit for the people of Japan to raise funds after the tsunami and devastation that country has experienced this past year.
